The Hoghton Tower – UCLan Initiative
A brand new outreach initiative with one goal; to strengthen relations between Hoghton Tower and the local university, the University of Central Lancashire.
UCLan and Hoghton Tower have made many successful interactions and events in the past, but the UCLan Initiative is a university-wide initiative that, when fully developed, will encompass every relevant area of UCLan to link with Hoghton Tower in some way.
The main way by which we are launching this initiative is with a series of events held at Hoghton Tower with the assistance of UCLan faculty and students in some way. This is evident from the Stargazing at the Tower event, which is being supported by some of the leading members of UCLan’s Jeremiah Horrocks Institute. You can learn more about our Stargazing at the Tower event HERE!
As future events and parts of the initiative develop further, we will publicise all relevant information accordingly. The Hoghton Tower – UCLan Initiative falls in direct alignment with the principles of the Hoghton Tower Preservation Trust as it fulfils the principles of the Tower being active in the community, in education, and in the local area.
We intend to link with each and every relevant UCLan department with the goal of establishing better relations and with the intention of making Hoghton Tower an important place for both UCLan students and lecturers to conduct their disciplinary interests.
