Accommodation at Hoghton Tower

Stay at the Irishman's Tower

Built in 1565, this ancient fortified Tudor - Elizabethan manor sits in a commanding position overlooking the surrounding Lancashire countryside.

The Irishman’s Tower occupies one of the former garrisons that interrupt the ramparts surrounding Hoghton Tower. It can now be rented on a self-catering basis for your ideal rural retreat. The Irishman’s Tower will accommodate a maximum of two people.

This two-floor, cosy historic property has been completely refurbished in 2010. Whilst retaining all of its original features, it has been designed in line with contemporary tastes; living in a 16th century tower does not mean you can not have a luxury spa bathroom, a flatscreen TV and internet access.

Here you will be able to relax and unwind, enjoying some of the best views over one of the most beautiful areas of the country. Use it as your base to visit the local area whether by foot or by cycle or travel further a field with the Forest of Bowland, Lancaster and the Lake District all within striking distance. Play some golf at Pleasington, one of the best tests of golf in the North-West of England. Seek out locally produced food at one of the many farmers markets, village stores, pubs and restaurants nearby.
