Hoghton Tower Receives
Castle Studies Trust Grant Award
We are very excited to announce that we have been awarded the Castle Studies Trust Grant for £6,200.
The grant involves funding for an architectural survey and analysis to take place at the Tower this year which includes both a geophysical survey and a community excavation.
These events will be taking place throughout the year in conjunction with the University of Salford’s Centre for Applied Archaeology who will carry out the work.
The goal of this project is to better understand the Elizabethan architectural structure of the building and will encourage both volunteers and students to get involved in a project encourages education of Hoghton Tower’s long history.
