Roof works completed
We are happy to announce that the roof works at Hoghton Tower are completed. Tools went down on the 19th December and Hoghton Tower will be water tight for another generation or two!
The beautiful stone roof tiles were carefully removed and reset once the wood work underneath was assessed and treated. Valley gutters and chimneys were carefully restored and lead work renewed.
All of the work was possible to due support from donors, funding from the Country House Foundation and Garfield Weston, admission income and other fundraising activities.
There is still time to do your bit to help to finish to pay for the project, any money received will help to fund this or other projects like it at Hoghton Tower, keeping heritage alive and Hoghton Tower open for future generations.
