Coach Tours and Private Groups

Hoghton Tower invites pre-booked groups of 20 or more, for private tours throughout the year. On arrival, there is reserved space for your coach at the Gatehouse Tower where you will be met and welcomed by your tour guide.

We invite you to stroll through history on a private tour with one of our experienced guides who will share with you informative insights of the many dramas and characters who have featured in the history of the Tower.

Visit the gardens with castellated walls and turrets offering magnificent views of Lancashire, the Lake District and North Wales. On request, we will be pleased to serve lunches, afternoon teas and evening meals.
The Stables Gift Shop offers an enticing selection of gifts and souvenirs.

Coach Tours—Cruising through history
When your coach arrives at Hoghton Tower you will be taken on a 1½ hour guided tour of the staterooms, ballroom, dungeons & Banqueting Hall. Rejoin your coach for a 1½ hour cruise on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal from Riley Green Marina. (Transfer time 5 mins) The cruise passes through delightful countryside and on to Johnson Hillock Locks. From here your coach can take you home. During the sail you can relax with a drink and a taste of 'Lancashire Fare' from cream teas and buffets to home-made pies and Lancashire hot-pot.
