Hoghton Tower Preservation Trust
Welcome Lancashire
Hoghton Tower is the ancestral home of the de Hoghton family. View the Banqueting Hall, Staterooms, Underground Passages, Dungeons and Dolls’ House Collection. Learn about the Tower's fascinating history and the role the house and family played in the history of Lancashire and further afield. If you are after some fresh air, the discovery trail around the gardens will reward you with magnificent views from the ramparts. Why not bring your family for a wonderful day out. Take the long drive to the 16th century and follow in the footsteps of William Shakespeare, Charles Dickens and King James I.
All admission income benefits the Hoghton Tower Preservation Trust - keeping heritage alive for future generations.
The House & Grounds are currently closed for the winter season. We will however be open for guided tours on the third Sunday of every month from 11am to 5pm. Please see our Events page for more details. If you would like to arrange a private tour during the winter season (groups of 20 or more), please contact the office on 01254 852986.
Take Your Place in History
Volunteering can be enjoyable, rewarding and fun, especially when it involves stewarding in a 16th Century Historic House, guiding visitors through underground passages on ghost tours, serving in the Stables Gift Shop, giving assistance with car parking and generally acting as ambassador for one of the most atmospheric homes in England. For further details and an application form, please contact the office 01254 852986 or email Volunteering@hoghtontower.co.uk.
