Ways to support our work
Hoghton Tower Preservation Trust (Registered Charity Number: 508357) looks after Hoghton Tower. In order to keep the house in a good state of repair and open to the general public we rely on the generosity of the general public in supporting its work. This may be through supporting our fundraising events, visiting the Tower and taking a tour or supporting our shop or tea room, there are lots of ways in which you can support us!
We also have specific projects currently open which include a wildflower meadow creation on our famous driveway, and the roof restoration project. If you wish to donate to these specific projects then please use the buttons below.
We are creating wildflower meadows on either side of the famous Hoghton Tower driveway. This will not only provide a feast of colour for our visitors through the house open season, but more importantly will provide a great habitat for a variety of insects and wildlife. The project is being carried out with Lancashire Wildlife Trust and will take around 3 years to establish. This year our resident bee population crashed as a result of poor food sources and poor weather. We are hoping that by creating this wildflower meadow we will be helping provide an essential source of nectar for our resident bees! Look out in Autumn 2016 for our Hoghton Tower Wildflower Honey!
Roof Restoration Project:
We are currently undertaking a huge restoration of the roof at Hoghton Tower. This is much needed work replacing rotten and failing roofing beams and putting in liners to protect the timber structure under the heavy stone. It is a huge undertaking and will ensure that the roof stays leak free so protecting the rooms beneath. We have had some funding from Garfield Western and Country House Association for this project but need your help to complete the project! Next time you are at the Tower, see if you can see which stone you helped fund!
Thank you for your generosity. Your donations make it possible for future generations to enjoy Hoghton Tower for years to come.
