Despite the multiple cancellations due to COVID, the team were so flexible and made every effort to accommodate the dates that were shifting around. Furthermore, the staff were incredibly helpful in the run-up to the big day, proactively ensuring that they reached out to other suppliers to make sure everything ran smoothly – which it did.

The venue itself is breathtaking – as guests arrived on the coach, there was an audible gasp as they saw the imposing driveway and tower. And once they were inside it only got better – Hoghton Tower has wonderful variety meaning that there was lots of opportunity for our guests to spread out and engage in different activities. We had an Irish fiddler in the quad, garden games on the lawn and a photo booth in the bar area. There really was something for everyone. The wedding breakfast was held in the Great Hall, which is so striking that it really doesn’t need much additional decoration – it was really quite overwhelming to be able to celebrate our special day in a venue that is steeped in history.

When we were first looking around Hoghton Tower in order to source a venue for our wedding, we were amazed by the number of people who came up to us and, having had their own weddings there, implored us to book this venue and not consider any others. Now we know why. We’re sure we will return to Hoghton Tower in the future and, when we do, we will not hesitate to encourage other couples to hold their own weddings at Hoghton Tower though, to be honest, we’d be amazed if any convincing was needed!

The team – thank you for everything. We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding – it genuinely was worth all the heartache of the rearrangements!

From first enquiring about weddings at Hoghton Tower right through to the big day itself, nothing was too much trouble and we were able to bring to life the bespoke wedding we dreamed of. We were able to add all the personal touches that really make a difference, from the choice of wine served to entertainment and decorations throughout the venue (although the building alone really speaks for itself).

The wedding coordinator is great to work with, I couldn’t have asked for better communication, knowledge and experience or such a warm friendly person to work with planning our big day. Compared to some mainstream wedding venues, the costs were very reasonable, especially for such a personable wedding. All in all, if it’s a fairy-tale, historical venue that stands out from the rest you are after than Hoghton Tower is for you!

“Hoghton Tower is a beautiful and amazing place to have a wedding”

Originally we planned to marry September 2020. COVID put a stop to that so we had to rearrange twice more before we managed to marry September 2021.

The team were amazing from day one. They put us at ease, went out of their way on numerous occasions to accommodate us on the lead up and that’s before we get to the day.

We pushed our budget to its absolute limit to have our reception with 120 guests at Hoghton Tower and it was more than worth it. We barely had time to take a breath and the clock raced around. We look back at the photos and video and see the pure joy etched in every image of not just ourselves but our guests. Everything about Hoghton Tower went far beyond anything we imagined before. Distilled down – The drive up after the church, relaxed welcome in the courtyard with family and friends, string quartet, meal and speeches, falconry display, smoke bombs, live five piece band. Night in the Irishman’s Tower. Truly one of the best days of our lives.

21.08.21 – The BEST day of our lives.

Our Wedding at Hoghton Tower was a delight! Thanks to the team for going above and beyond in their service, not only on the day but in the lead up too. Nothing was too much trouble for them, they made it completely stress free and the day went so smoothly, it just flowed wonderfully. At the beginning of our Engagement we viewed a couple of venues and started to worry that we wouldn’t find ‘the one’ as there was always something not quite right, that was until we viewed Hoghton Tower! We fell in love with the venue instantly from their historic grounds to their magical gardens, we just knew this was where we wanted to get married to fulfill our fairytale dream wedding. It truly is a marvellous venue and will always hold a special place in our hearts.

As soon as we saw Hoghton Tower we knew it was the venue for us, it’s absolutely stunning and had everything we were looking for.

From start to finish the team could not do enough for us. The day itself went so smoothly and really was an absolute fairytale. We’ve had so many comments from guests about the amazing food, service and location, with many telling us it was the best wedding they’d ever been to.

If you’re looking for a beautiful venue, full of history and a little bit different from everywhere else, then we cannot recommend Hoghton Tower enough.

The food, staff, setting, everything was perfect. We just want to do it all over again!
