Established in 1978, The Hoghton Tower Preservation Trust is a charitable organisation (Registered Charity Number: 508357) responsible for the running and upkeep of the public wings and gardens of Hoghton Tower, separate from the wider private Hoghton estate. It is important to us that this unique slice of Lancashire history is preserved for future generations and remains accessible to share with the public.
The Trust is run by a committed Board of Trustees, and all income raised from visitor admissions, events, holiday accommodation, and venue hire, goes back into running and maintaining the historic Tower for future generations to enjoy.
You can support the Hoghton Tower Preservation Trust simply by visiting the Tower or choosing to donate. If you’d like to play a more active role, we are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers.
The Hoghton Tower charitable objectives are –
‘’Restoring and preserving the Tower as a building of historic interest for the benefit of the community at large and the advancement of education.
Preserving all records relating to the history of the Tower and encouraging historical research into the history of Hoghton and the County Palatine of Lancashire.
Fostering public education and interest in matters connected with the preservation of the environment, in particular the preservation of the fauna and flora of Hoghton.’’
