Stunning Location

From the moment your wedding car pulls into the impressive driveway, you and your guests will be mesmerised by this stunning location. Hoghton Tower sits within the heart of Lancashire’s rich countryside and its truly breath-taking panoramic views.
Steeped in fascinating history, its early origins date back to circa 1115 and it was re-built in 1565 by Thomas Hoghton.
This historic, fortified, hilltop manor house occupies a commanding position and lies mid-way between Preston and Blackburn, with magnificent views of Lancashire,
the Lake District and North Wales.
Tilted sweeping lawns flank either side of the drive as you arrive at the front of the gatehouse, leading to the outer courtyard with its picturesque sandstone walls and cobbled floor. Climb the classical steps towards a romantic archway and the tranquil setting of the Inner Courtyard.

Beautiful Interior Setting

The King’s Hall sets the scene on your arrival into the venue, with its striking black and white chequered marble floor and elegant oak bar area, the room leads you into the beautifully oak panelled Billiard Room, with timeless parquet flooring and warm and cosy open fire. The Kings Hall bar area is adjacent to the North entrance and leads to the magnificent Banqueting Hall, where King James I famously knighted the loin of beef ‘Sir Loin’.

By day 4,000 ancient panes of delicately coloured glass flood the room with natural light. By night the soft glow of light and roaring log fire completes the setting and ambience of this stunning room.

Our unique venue has a range of hire options and is the perfect choice to host your magical and unforgettable Wedding Day.

Fabulous Gardens

The private gardens provide a stunning backdrop for the wedding photographs of your dreams.

Discover three separate, and very different walled gardens, each with their own distinctive character.

The Wilderness Garden, with its large lawn, herbaceous borders and topiary is the first garden you will step into
with its parapet walls separating the garden and ancient woodland beyond.

Wander into the Rose Garden, the most formal, yet intimate, of the three with its abundance of colourful and
wonderfully scented roses, and lines of clipped yews.

The next doorway leads you into the striking Ramparts Garden. Looking over the castellations, the horizon opens to a vast view of the gentle rolling countryside and the distant shimmer of the Irish Sea.
