Treat your mum to a delicious, traditional afternoon tea here at Hoghton Tower, relax together with family and friends in this unique historic setting. With tables available in two of our stunning rooms, you can choose from the beautiful oak panelled Billiard Room with it’s warm and cosy open fire or for an extra special treat, dine in the splendour of the magnificent Banqueting Hall, where King James I feasted in 1617 and famously knighted a loin of beef. Whatever you choose, you can be sure of a warm welcome as you enjoy Lancashire’s finest Afternoon Tea.

Enjoy a selection of tasty sandwiches, mouth-watering savoury bites and delectable, sweet treats along with a traditional scone with clotted cream and jam, all served with your choice of freshly brewed tea or coffee within the historic setting of this iconic Lancashire landmark.

All Afternoon Teas must be pre-booked. If you or any of your party have any special dietary requirements (including vegetarian / vegan) please make a note of these during the checkout process. If you have a gluten free, dairy free or other specific requirement, please be aware that although we take the utmost care preparing your food, we are unable to guarantee that it will be free from any allergen as these are present within our kitchen environment.

Other Information

House & Gardens –We are currently in our winter season so the house and gardens will be closed. Our 2024 Open Season will begin on Thursday 28th March.

Accessibility – The Billiard Room and Banqueting Hall are both located in the main house and are accessed from the Inner Courtyard. This is accessed either by two flights of stone steps without handrails or one steeper flight of stone steps with a handrail. Once inside the building some steps between rooms. All visits help the Hoghton Tower Preservation Trust (Registered Charity: 508357) to maintain, preserve, restore and maintain this beautiful building and grounds in which it stands and to continue to share its fascinating history with generations to come. Thank you for your support.

Refunds

All bookings are non-refundable and non-transferrable, please check the details carefully and ensure that you can commit to the date and time before you complete your booking as regrettably, we are unable to accommodate any changes once your booking is finalised.

If we have to cancel your booking for any reason, you will be offered a full refund or the opportunity to transfer your ticket to an alternative session (subject to availability).
